川普推特發言再度引發爭議。美國當地時間22日川普在推特上發文稱，美國應該大幅加強和擴大核武能力，稍早俄羅斯總統普丁也表示「必須加強戰略核子部隊軍力」，美俄輪番發言，令人聯想到冷戰時的美俄軍備競賽，核武專家也批評川普的發言「魯莽且不負責」。

無獨有偶，大陸官媒《環球時報》也在23日晚發表「加強戰略核力量，中國不可患得患失」社評提出，連美俄都覺得它們的戰略核武器不夠用，中國核武器已經夠用就更無從談起。中國加快發展東風-41等最新戰略核導彈的工作刻不容緩，美國方面對華傲慢甚於對俄傲慢，根本原因就是中國的核威懾遠遠弱於俄羅斯。只有到中國的戰略核威懾能夠強行把美國的對華姿態按下來時，情況才可能出現改觀。
